We bring together, in a unique way, our expertise in British arts and culture, education and the English language, our international presence in over 100 countries, our reach to young people and influential figures, and our creativity.

In 2024, the British Council will mark its 90th anniversary. Over the years, we have supported the development of millions of people and built deep and lasting relationships. We continually adapt to the needs of a changing world, whilst remaining true to the principles and values that have guided us since the organisation’s foundation.

We work directly with people to help them gain the skills, confidence and connections they need to transform their lives and shape a better world in partnership with the UK. We support them in building international relationships and exploring creative ideas, in learning English, and in gaining high-quality education and internationally recognised qualifications.

The British Council’s history in Poland dates back to 1938. We currently operate from three centres. Every year, we reach thousands of pupils, teachers and lecturers, civil society leaders, researchers, artists and entrepreneurs in Poland.
